Most of what breaks in a shop is small and urgent: a scanner that stops reading, a receipt printer that prints blank, a card terminal that loses its connection at the worst moment. We fix most of it remotely while the queue is still moving, and we come to the shop the same day when a part needs changing.
Problems we fix in shops and supermarkets every week
- Till frozen with a queue waiting. A checkout that locks up on a Thursday evening is the most common call we get from shops. We connect remotely, clear the fault and get the sale through, then find out why it happened so it does not happen again on Friday.
- Scanner reads nothing, or reads the wrong price. Usually a scanner that has lost its settings, or a price update that never reached the till. We reset the scanner and check the sync between the back office and every checkout.
- Receipt printer prints blank, cuts badly or jams. Thermal paper loaded the wrong way, a worn cutter or a driver that reset after a Windows update. We fix the cause, and shops on a plan get a spare printer kept ready.
- Receipts missing the QR code. Simplified tax invoices in Saudi Arabia need the ZATCA QR code. When it disappears after a software change, we restore it and test a sale before we leave.
- mada terminal offline. The card machine says no connection while cash still works. It is almost always the network port, the Wi-Fi it is paired to, or a router that rebooted. We get it back online and move it to a wired connection where we can.
- Stock not matching between the back office and the tills. Sales that post late, stock counts that are wrong by the morning, offers that apply on one till but not the other. We check the sync service and the database and make every checkout agree.
- Shelf label printer misaligned. Labels printing half off the sticker waste a roll an hour. We calibrate the printer and set the label size in the software so the next thousand labels come out straight.
What we set up and look after in a shop
- Checkout tills. Windows and Android POS terminals, cash drawers and customer displays, installed, imaged and labelled per lane.
- Scanners and scales. Handheld and in-counter barcode scanners, and label scales for produce and deli counters, paired and tested on every till.
- Receipt and label printers. Thermal receipt printers at the checkouts, shelf label printers in the back office, with spare rolls and a servicing schedule.
- Card terminals. mada and card terminals on wired connections where possible, with a tested fallback for when the line drops.
- Back office and stock software. The back office PC, the stock and purchasing software it runs, and the sync to the tills, backed up every night.
- Network, power and cameras. Cabling to each lane, a switch that keeps the tills on their own network, UPS units so a power flicker does not reboot a checkout, and the CCTV recorder on the same network.
How fast we respond when a till stops
A stopped till is top priority. Message or call us and an engineer replies within 5 minutes, any day of the week. Most checkout faults are fixed remotely in about 15 minutes, while your cashier moves customers to the next lane.
If a part has to be changed, we book a same-day visit to the shop with the scanner, printer or terminal already in the van. Installations and upgrades are done after closing, so you never lose a trading hour to IT.
Questions shop owners ask us
Can you support the POS software we already use?
In most cases, yes. We work with the common Windows and Android POS systems used in local shops, and with the receipt printers, scanners and card terminals attached to them. Tell us the name of your software and we will confirm before you commit to anything.
We have three branches. Can one engineer look after all of them?
Yes. Remote support covers every branch from one number, and onsite visits are planned so each branch gets the same setup, the same spare parts and the same standard. You get one report per job, whichever branch it was.
Can you work after the shop closes?
Yes. New tills, cabling and upgrades are usually done after closing or before opening, so the checkouts are ready when the first customer walks in.
Do you check ZATCA e-invoicing on our tills?
We make sure the receipt your till prints carries the QR code and the details your POS software generates for ZATCA, and we test it after every change. The tax registration itself is handled by you or your accountant; we keep the technical side working.
The services behind IT and POS support for shops
Shop work draws on three of our services: POS installation and support in Madinah for the checkouts, printer maintenance and repair in Madinah for receipt and label printers, and remote and onsite IT support in Madinah for everything else in the back office.
